Fassi cranes in the mining sector of the Rhineland
Safety, speed and a lower risk of accidents is the overall level of quality that has been required from the F455A crane, which was requested to perform an activity to help in the transport of mining material in the Garzweiler lignite mine in the Rhine region. During the routine transport of boulders, some of the larger-sized stones were overloading the line. There was therefore the need to solve the problem by using the potential of the Fassi crane. The F455 crane was mounted on the boom of an excavator with the aim of freeing the material conveyor belt from larger boulders. The outreach of the hydraulic boom achieved 8 metres for a maximum load of 5,000 kg, a feature that proved to be ideal for the critical situation that was occurring.
