Transporting a power substation
In order to handle a power substation, an F1300AXP crane was set on a track-laying vehicle. The complex operation occurred in Doetinchem, 100 km east of Utrecht, in the Netherlands. The substation had to be picked up, moved and repositioned; it weighed 8 tonnes and, due to the sensitivity and critical nature of the operation, it required the support of a heavy-duty Fassi crane. First, the crane positioned the substation on the track-laying vehicle by collecting it from a trailer. The vehicle then moved towards the area where the substation was to be placed, travelling along a dirt track.
